Conspiracy theories have become a mainstream cultural phenomenon. This paper considers the role they play in extremist groups and counterterrorism work. It presents the first ever analysis of conspiracy theories in the ideology and propaganda of fifty extremist groups: religious, far-right and left, eco, anarchic and cult-based.

It is argued that conspiracy theories are a ‘radicalising multiplier’, which feed back into the ideologies, internal dynamics and psychological processes of extremist groups in three ways. Firstly, they create demonologies of ‘the enemy’ that the group defines itself against. Secondly, they delegitimise voices of dissent and moderation. And thirdly, they encourage a group or individuals to turn to violence, because it acts as rhetorical devices to portray violence as necessary to ‘awaken’ the people from their acquiescent slumber. More broadly, conspiracy theories drive a wedge of distrust between governments and particular communities which can hinder community-level efforts to fight violent extremism.

It is, however, difficult for government to tackle conspiracies. The paper calls for government institutions to be more open, investment to enable young people to think critically and recognise propaganda, and for civil society to play a proactive role.

I have heard stories about  american vigilantes doing such things , and with mexicans training middle easterners to look like them and sound like them to be able to cross the border udetected it stands to reason that wed see more of this type of thing.

Condemning migrant killings in Mexico, UN rights chief calls for urgent action

High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay

27 August 2010 – The United Nations human rights chief today strongly condemned the killing of 72 migrants in northern Mexico and called on the authorities to take urgent steps to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

The Mexican Navy discovered a site on 24 August that contained 72 corpses, including 14 women, who had apparently been executed by members of organized crime.

The victims were reported to be undocumented migrants from Central and South America, according to a news release from the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).

“I am deeply shocked about these killings, which highlight the critical situation of migrants in the country,” said High Commissioner Navi Pillay.

She called on the authorities “to conduct as a matter of urgency a thorough, transparent and independent investigation into these killings, and to preserve the dignity of the victims by ensuring their identification and return to their families.”

The High Commissioner also urged them to prosecute and punish those responsible and adopt preventive measures.

“Ensuring that there is no impunity is crucial to avoid a repetition of such a heinous crime,” she stated.

An estimated 400,000 migrants transit through Mexico each year, according to the UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights of migrants, who added that most of them are victims of trafficking by transnational gang networks also involved in smuggling and drugs.

Ms. Pillay called on the authorities to take all necessary steps to protect the life and integrity of migrants, particularly women and children, in line with Mexico’s international obligations.

It was asked of me on another thread that I illuminate my hasty observations of the 13 steps of the pyramid temple. The list above is just an approximation of facets of the temple which could be augmented by people who actually know enough rather than people like myself simply acting purely on inspired thought.
But we must then take these 13 steps and categorize them as ,
personal,
collective,
and divine for lack of a better word. Say infinite.
There are many of these that are multi purpose if not all of them but aspect of each can be filtered into each category like the ability to convey ideas to the collective and decreasing blockages to that end. In fact the entire lot is deblocking the mirroring of self to collective to infinite as we gain in understanding about the aspects of the material plane exemplifying for us the path to unblocked communion or what people are referring to as oneness.
The uniqueness of each individuals presence from here to the infinite is started on the material plane, each set of life circumstances lends a uniqueness to the world view and is important as an information currency.
So as a person builds thei inner temple the stones are manifested on an infinite number of subtle differences.
