Two days after Walker’s announcement and in response to claims from state and federal officials that Gulf Coast waters are safe and clean, fishermen took their own samples from the waters off of Pass Christian in Mississippi.
The samples were taken in water that is now open for shrimping, as well as from waters directly over Mississippi’s oyster bed, that will likely open in September for fishing.
Commercial fisherman James "Catfish" Miller, took fishermen Danny Ross Jr. and Mark Stewart, along with scientist Dr. Ed Cake of Gulf Environmental Associates and others out and they found the fishing grounds to be contaminated with oil and dispersants.

“While President Obama and state officials claim that the Gulf is ‘open for business,’ these fishermen say the spraying of dispersants in the Gulf of Mexico is ongoing and they’re concerned that seafood pulled from impacted waters is unsafe for eating.”

A cross examination of global warming science conducted by the University of Pennsylvania’s Institute for Law and Economics has concluded that virtually every claim advanced by global warming proponents fails to stand up to scrutiny.
The cross-examination, carried out by Jason Scott Johnston, Professor and Director of the Program on Law, Environment and Economy at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, found that “on virtually every major issue in climate change science, the [reports of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change] and other summarizing work by leading climate establishment scientists have adopted various rhetorical strategies that seem to systematically conceal or minimize what appear to be fundamental scientific uncertainties or even disagreements.”

EVACUATE NOW!: This is Not a Drill
August 15, 2010 posted by Bob Nichols
REUTERS / Denis Sinyakov – Forest fires hit areas remaining radioactive since the Chernobyl disaster in 1986.
Thousands of forest fires are burning all over Russia. More importantly, the nuclear weapons factories and reactors around Mayak and the former Soviet Union’s Uranium Project are going up in smoke. The smoke is toxic and radioactive in every possible sense of the words.
As of 8/15/2010 all personnel in Russia and the European Union are advised to evacuate immediately. I repeat. This is not a drill. If you can’t leave, get your kids out. It may be too late already.

I don’t need to remind you that—little more than a month after Lindgren and Harris mocked Celente’s wacky conspiracy theories—“Tea (Taxed Enough Already?) Party” protests began to pop up all across the nation to revolt against everything from TARP bailouts to mandatory health insurance.
Webmaster’s Commentary:
Every time the bloggers came out with a well considered prognostication about future events, the government and corporate PR shills would hurl ridicule and abuse, and attempt to silence our warnings that agreement with various policies would be to the benefit of the ruling class and detrimental to everyone else in the nation. But that was then and this is now and the hard reality is that the bloggers were for the most part correct while the corporate media and government promises and claims were so much empty air.
Today the citizen’s media (a better name than blog-o-sphere IMHO) has won the lion’s share of the audience, while the audience share and trust in the corporate media has plummeted. Most people get their political news off of the internet these days much to the annoyance of those who grew up with an unshakable sense of being able to lie with impunity as the path to power and great wealth.
We were telling you the truth. The government was lying. That situation persists to this very day.
Of course, as this article illustrates, neither the government nor the corporate media will ever outright admit they lied to the public. Those rising internet stars they cannot buy off or otherwise co-opt will simply be ignored as the powers that be struggle to find ways to sell the old lies in the new world.
Personally, I think the effort doomed to fail. The internet has changed the fundamental nature of how information flows in our society just as dramatically as Gutenberg’s movable type printing and there is no going back. We are entering an age where government and business must be more honest with the public, or simply cease to exist. The age of lies is coming to an end. Truth is winning. Deal with it.

From my perspective, the opposition to the mosque is ALL about bigotry and intolerance. I think the rest of the world sees it that way too. It’s hard to accept that the 69% of Americans who oppose the building of the mosque don’t see the intolerance factor. It’s easier to believe that they don’t get the soft power and terrorism inflaming and supporting aspects.
Webmaster’s Commentary:
I am of the opinion that this Mosque controversy is yet another manufactured issue to distract Americans from the problems that actually affect their lives, which are the economy and the wars.

Now we need one that says something like, "The only persons arrested on 9/11 were Israelis/Mossad, not Arabs. What were those 5 Mossad agents high-fiving each other over as they videoed the Towers getting hit and blowing up?" A bit long, but something like that.
"San Luis Obispo, August 6, 2010:
In what may be the first of it’s kind in the nation, a group of 9/11 Truth activists organized, designed and paid for a commercial billboard in which 1,200 Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth invite the public to “Examine the Evidence.”
The 24’ (w) x 12’ (h) billboard was installed sometime Thurs. afternoon, Aug. 5, 2010 on South Higuera, just south of Elks Lane in San Luis Obispo (near the Sutcliffe Cemetery)."

Palestinians demand a halt to all Israeli building in the West Bank before they will resume direct peace talks. Construction, such as the road, would take place on land the Palestinians desire for a future state and, from their point of view, cements the Israeli presence in the West Bank.

We already know that cloned beef has entered the food supply both in the United States and the UK. Now, thanks to revelations from JR Simplot, a U.S. company specializing in the cloning of cows for beef production, we’re learning that dead cows are cloned to produce the next generation of beef cattle.
Here’s how it works: A large number of cows are slaughtered and then chopped into steaks that are tested for their flavor, texture and other qualities important to steak eaters…

Ray Bradbury is mad at President Obama, but it’s not about the economy, the war or the plan to a construct a mosque near Ground Zero in New York City.
“He should be announcing that we should go back to the moon,” says the iconic author, whose 90th birthday on Aug. 22 will be marked in Los Angeles with more than week’s worth of Bradbury film and TV screenings, tributes and other events. “We should never have left there. We should go to the moon and prepare a base to fire a rocket off to Mars and then go to Mars and colonize Mars. Then when we do that, we will live forever."

Desperate Israeli politicians, watching opposition to their apartheid state mount, have proposed a perverted form of what they term “the one-state solution.” It is the latest tool to thwart a Palestinian state and allow Israel to retain its huge settlement complexes and land seizures in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. The idea of a single state was backed by Moshe Arens, a former defense minister and foreign minister from the Likud Party, in a column he wrote last month in the newspaper Haaretz asking “Is There Another Option?” Arens has been joined by several other Israeli politicians including Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin.
